Very comfortable shorts--soft and silky. I forget I am wearing anything at all at times.

The one downside--that dropped it down to 4 stars--is the back pocket, as previously noted by other reviewers. While I enjoy the size of the pocket, I'm not as big of a fan of it sitting horizontally, which aids in the bouncing of anything kept in there. I just don't understand the logic--or testing--that went into this pocket to have it pass inspection.

Regardless, this product is great!

I would recommend this product.

Had been using several major-brand name (shoe company, starts with an "N") shorts for a couple years until I bought these. Very comfortable; I am a 34-35 waist and the large fits me quite well. These are fairly brief (mid-thigh) shorts. The jersey lining provides adequate support for running. The material is soft and comfortable for running. I am pleased with the price for the value.

I would recommend this product.

I would say that you hardly know your wearing shorts with the Ultrarefuels, but I wouldn't want folks to think they are under-built. I've put about 50 miles on these babies during an unseasonably warm Minnesota spring. I've been trail running for about 12 years, and these are by far the most comfortable shorts I've had. Stretchy fabric with imperceptible venting in the side panels. The fabric is also super light and you really have no idea the lining is there. I haven't pushed past a 10 mile run yet, but I can tell they are going to be great in the summer over long distances. I agree with the previous reviewer in that the back pocket needs a closure. There is no way gels and toilet paper are going to stay in that thing during technical trail running. My fiance upgraded it with a snap closure that should work fine. Giving these four stars because I haven't had them on a long run yet. The fabric seems to avoid the "funk" factor more than other running shorts I've had. I'm 5'7" 150lbs with athletic build and small is perfect. If you like a shorter-short that doesn't limit range of motion in the quads, then this is the one.

I would recommend this product.

I am 5'9, 145lbs and the small fits perfectly. A very well made running short, with the perfect inseam length, right amount of stretch, and unlimited freedom of movement for both road and trail running. The lining does not chafe and the back pocket is perfect for stashing a gel or two. The fabric resists significant moisture absorption which keeps you cooler, more comfortable, and further decreases your chance of chafing during a long run. I highly recommend this running short to any runner (novice to elite) for everyday training and racing on both roads and trails.

My only recommendation for improvement would be to add a strip of velcro to the rear pocket to prevent contents from popping out while running on technical trails.

I would recommend this product.
