Per the details it states "Polartec® Powerdry® fleece's sophisticated bi-component knit construction is highly breathable and manages moisture efficiently."
This product DOES NOT breath well and NOT designed to be worn while be very active. Polartec is a great product but to classify this jacket in the active category is NOT accurate.
This is good for being stationary during belay, in camp but definitely not designed for active use. I would discontinue this product line and bring back the Butterman Hoody instead which acts similar to the Power Hoody BUT breathes significantly better.
I do not recommend this product.

Since buying this hoody I've worn it almost every day. Here are my thoughts.
• Really comfortable and the hood is great for below a helmet
• "Black" on the site is grey in real life.
• Order a size smaller than your MH shell size. I made the mistake of ordering the same size and had to return it because it was too baggy.
Here's what I'd like to see in the next version:
• Merino. This thing can get smelly after a few days of semi-active use
• Better quality zippers
• Softer bit at the top of the zipper, sort of scratches when up all the way
• Different string/stitching on the thumb holes, the yellow isn't ideal and stitching looks unfinished
• Match the inside of the hood color to the outside hood color. When it's not on, it's this light grey that doesn't match any other part of the hoody.

Not for cool windy areas

This jacket would be very good for those that near no wind conditions to run in. However, I am currently living in the California high desert and the lack wind resistant material on the forearm section makes it untenable to me. Back of the arm area with a very breathable membrane/shell...got it. However, the arm front side needs to be like the front core section (light fleece or similar) to cut the wind.
Love the cut, long tail, visibility accents, and thumb holes!
Fix the wind resistance issue on the front in subsequent versions and you'll have a near perfect cool/cold weather runner.

I hate overheating during runs as much as I hate walking to/from the gym in the cool Italian summers. This hoody provides the warmth I need when I need it wihout overheating during runs outside. Highly recommended, another great MH product.

The Super Power Hoody turned out to be my favorite gift to myself. I've been using it for XC skiing in the Alaskan Interior down to about -25 with a baselayer and stayed comfortable. Knocks down the wind well, breathes great, lots of stretch, plenty of pocket space, when zipped up hood fits nice and tight but has plenty of stretch for any hat or headlamp. When running in the spring or fall, the thumbholes are a nice addition. To add to that, it looks good.

Not as fleecy as I had hoped, but pleased overall

I purchased this hoody for early morning runs when temps linger in the teens and twenties. I was a little disappointed that the jacket is mostly technical fabric, not fleece. Everywhere the picture shows gray is not fleece. With that being said, it performs beautifully for what I bought it for. I wore it for a 12 degree run this morning on top of a long sleeve technical shirt and I was warm, never overheating. The thumbholes actually tuck nicely into the sleeves so it's not totally obvious that you are not using them, and there is plenty of sleeve to fit nicely over my gloves. I am 6'2" and 150 (female) and bought the men's medium for length. It is not snug but I wanted to make sure I had enough length in sleeves and waist. I am pleased with the size. Will definitely be using this all winter for running and into the spring for hiking.

Jacket runs a bit small had to send the first jacket back do to sizing chart showed me as a large but xlarge fit much better with layers, if your 6'1" 205 go with the XLRG, little bummed had to pay to ship back but overall the jacket peforms well on my runs in the city and on the trail

Great jacket... wrong color...

I love the fit and feel of this jacket but was shipped a grey color other than the black one i ordered. I had to keep it since I took all the tags off to try it out, but I still like it, I may still order another black one and hope the second time is a charm.

It's a great hoody for running, hiking, or any outdoor sport where a light layer is needed. Breaths great, and it keeps the heat in. Runs a little small in the waist, but that could be that I need to loose some pounds. It a great product, mountain hardwear never lets me down.

Worth the wait

I have waited six months for this jacket to come in my size and when it finally arrived, it did not disappoint. I just ran at dusk in the mountains and felt wonderful the entire run. My temperature was slightly warm, but I have always preferred warmth more than a chill. I have also used it as a base layer and stand alone; both purposes were served perfectly.

Super Power Hoody

I have several Mountain Hardwear products all of which offer excellent performance and superior quality. The Super Power Hoody is no exception. It has been the perfect garment for the cool and rainy weather I have experienced the last month. So far, I have used this product as an outer garment, but feel it would make a perfect mid-level layering garment in colder temps. A very versatile garment that I look forward to wearing.

Super Power Hoody

I am 6'4" 178lbs, 40-42 chest, 32" waist. I have the Large.
This hoody fits great on the sleeves for my long arms, chest and neck. However this years version is a bit wider in the waist (say a 36" or 38" if you like tight fitting).

I do not like how the hoody seems to curve upwards in the back. I would like to see some more length in the torso, perhaps an additional 3-4 inches in the back.
This would also make a great cycling hoody as the sleeves are very long, the hood is helmet cut and the rear reflector is perfect for traffic. But again, it rides up my back in cycling position due to the cut.
Its a good mid layer hoody for technical and streetwear. If you are taller you might want some more length in the back.

Versatile and Warm

This hoody has been used in the blistering winter Gorge winds and the temperate Pineapple Express days we have had in Camas recently. It has done everything I expected it to. Paired with the Advance LS Crew the Super Power Hoody kept me warm during the most windy days and kept me comfortable when the temperature swing was 30 degrees.

Love this hoody!

It's a great design and perfect for running and skiing in the winter. Love the fabric and especially the hand covers. The hood is a bit big and I found that although I have medium uppers in every other style from base layer and fleece to soft shells, I found this to be a bit big if it's supposed to be snug.

great jacket

its perfect as a light midlayer and just to wear around in the winter as a hoody. the reflectors are great and the thumb holes are great. the hood is a little loose but sits well. overall great jacket im 5'10'' 170lbs and a medium is perfect.

Great base layer

This hoody is light, but great as a base layer. It can be worn comfortably under other layers, a backpack, or a helmet. This is a great piece of clothing for anyone looking for a comfortable, versaitle hoody. I have used it hiking, bouldering, and lounging around and it has worked very well.

a little light

This a great hoody, if you use it for what it is intended for: cold weather activity. Otherwise, the hoody is really really LIGHT. The fleece is warm, but its just very thin. I would count on using it as a layer if you plan on using it in most winter weather, and it is a good base layer. Also, I have had mine for a few weeks, and I was wearing it under my backpack (I am still a college student), and the fleece panel on my lower back is already starting to wear....not very durable, but i guess its meant to be worn without a backpack/daypack (?). On the other hand, this thing is super cool looking, very stylish. I have gotten many compliments. It also blocks wind relatively well, even the "breath panels." The wear and tear is the main reason for the 3 stars (in reality, we're looking at 3.5).

great baselayer

Bought this to wear under my heavy winter coat. So far its been great. I work in Fairbanks on a small ski lift and this baselayer works awesome. Really warm and its a nice tight fit which i like for under my other coat. Worked great earlier this year when it wasnt so cold. Great buy if you want something to keep you warm while your active or just as a base.

Very nice activewear

I purchased this for wearing running, but due to an injury have not been able to do so. However, I've worn it under other conditions and found it comfortable and the right level of warmth. It's also a good looking zip up!
